I didn't know programming was something I could enjoy or even do adequately until I was nearly graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering. A course in VB.NET changed my feelings so completely that I followed up with an independent study wherein I built a facility layout program utilizing particle swarm optimization. I expanded my skill set with C# and SQL Server and earned a software technician position at home health software company Homecare Homebase. There, I solved high level support tickets, implemented bug fixes and smaller enhancements, and learned the fundamentals of source control using TFS. I currently work at Software Management, LLC, which develops solutions for county clerks offices across Kentucky using Windows Forms and ASP.NET MVC. I am trusted with making architectural and implementation decisions on most of our larger projects and also implement tools to make our developer's lives easier.
