David Hayden

David Hayden is a product management and corporate development professional who has repeatedly proven his instinct and talent for designing software-as-a-service strategies and executing them through product management, strategic partnerships and M&A. Recognized as one of the more knowledgeable product management professionals in the CRM industry, David co-founded ServiceTarget in Bozeman, Montana in 2016. His vision was to help customers resolve their own questions and issues through self-service, a self-learning knowledgebase, and automating transactions. At a time when many built companies to raise money, David built a sustainable business without outside capital. He did this by working closely with customers to define every aspect of the product, helping them shift business to online channels. As Vice President of Product Management of Oracle Service Cloud from 2013-2015, David led a team of 40 product managers responsible for web, mobile and social customer service, omnichannel contact center and knowledge management. At the same time, David helped Oracle uplevel RightNow’s original CX strategy into an Oracle CX applications strategy comprised of Oracle Sales, Service, Marketing, Commerce and the Oracle Cloud. Prior to Oracle, David led Corporate Development at RightNow Technologies and helped it transition from a horizontal solution into a cross-channel platform for consumer-oriented CRM. This investment thesis underpinned Oracle’s acquisition of RightNow for $1.5b in 2012. Prior to RightNow, David worked in investment banking at Citigroup and Alex. Brown where he focused on M&A and leveraged buyout transactions. Apart from software & M&A, David enjoys spending time with his family. Among other causes, David volunteered as CFO for the largest humanitarian relief organization in Afghanistan called the Agency for Technical Cooperation & Development in 2002 and 2003. David worked from Afghanistan and traveled extensively throughout the country overseeing emergency relief budgets of $18m per year. David is active as an investor and mentor of several emerging companies and executives. Previous clients include Quantcast, Glassbox, SeviceTarget and Afghanistan’s first major internet service provider.
