Doreen Burdalski

Chair, Fashion Department at Albright College

Doreen Burdalski has 20 years of retail industry experience in fashion buying, product development and visual merchandising. Areas of expertise include marketing, merchandise buying, merchandise planning, merchandise management, visual merchandising, space management, point of sale marketing, planograms, floorplans development, retailing strategies, retailing operations and retailing mathematics. Doreen is currently Assistant Professor of Merchandising and Chair of the Fashion Department at Albright College. She has appeared in and consulted for radio, television and various print media, and has published several retail case studies on merchandising. While at Albright College she has developed the merchandising and design curriculum and increased enrollment in the fashion department by 47%. Prior to joining Albright College Doreen served as the Fashion Merchandising Program Coordinator at Philadelphia University. She has taught merchandising/marketing at Philadelphia University, Drexel University and the Art Institute of Philadelphia. In addition to teaching undergraduate merchandising courses at Drexel University, Ms. Burdalski developed online merchandising courses for Drexel University’s Goodwin College School of Technology and Professional Studies. Doreen earned her M.B.A. in Marketing at Rutgers University and her B.S. in Retailing Management at Philadelphia University, previously Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. She is currently a member of has served on the executive boards of Fashion Group International Philadelphia and the American Collegiate Retailing Association.
