Kris Stokking is a versatile technology leader with over 20 years of experience in Software, DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering. He serves as a Vice President of Software Engineering at Blackboard, responsible for the development, delivery, health and growth of Blackboard Learn. Kris has over 13 years in educational technologies, beginning in 2008 as a development leader at Moodlerooms during their early startup period. After joining Blackboard through acquisition in 2012, Kris has contributed in several leadership roles and has contributed towards nearly every product offering. Kris played an integral role overseeing the formation and growth of Blackboard's Learn DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering organizations, and helped lead the scalability of Blackboard’s virtual classroom solution through a surge in usage by over 4800% during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kris holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University, and has also earned certifications in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
