Data Governance and Analytics Enablement, Senior Director at Parexel

Upon receiving my third and final degree, I worked in military software engineering at a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC), (The MITRE Corporation) serving the US Air Force, Federal Civil Systems and the Intelligence Community. I then entered the publishing industry at a couple of different publishing houses (Houghton Mifflin Company and Addison Wesley Longman) followed by an Internet holding company (CMGi, Inc.), and then a software company (Pegasystems Inc.) that specializes in Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Rules Engine (BRE) technology. At each of these companies I created a new practice in application software testing (both functional and load testing) and software quality assurance (SQA) as well as performing and managing those services. Initiated a practice in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) using UiPath. Provided numerous UiPath Studio-based automated processes ranging from detecting missing billable timesheets representing missing revenue to the automation of documents related to international taxation to production of reports requested by external auditors reviewing financial operations and showed colleagues how to upload them to a server running UiPath Orchestrator and Robots. My most recent experience (at Parexel International, a Contract Research Organization (CRO) serving large pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and biotech companies worldwide) has been in creating new practices in Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Data Science (construed as including Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Artificial Intelligence (AI)). For the past few years I have moved out of software testing and SQA and have, instead, been heavily involved in implementing numerous aspects of Parexel's Holistic Data Framework used to build out Parexel's Data Governance practice with team leadership responsibilities for a workstream devoted to Data Standards (for data exchange, data management and terminology) and Ontologies. This work on Data Governance has also included work on helping to establish a framework to support Parexel's practice in the areas of Data Science and Analytics in the areas of tools, packages, techniques and data quality deviation detection rules (to detect data anomalies that jeopardize attributability, accuracy, completeness, interoperability and data semantics) in addition to defining a three-tier training track in Data Science and Analytics comprising almost 390+ training modules. Member of Parexel's Innovation Council for the last 3 years.
