I first learned how to shoot and edit on VCRs and VHS tapes over 20 years ago, and I’ve been working on video projects ever since. More than the end product, I’m passionate about leading a diverse group of people and developing a collaborative and super-synergized team. I’ve worked with companies like Google, Yahoo, Intuit, Fujitsu, and Workday, as well as hundreds of small businesses and tech startups in the SF Bay Area to create content for their brands. I’ve led teams and clients on both sides of the spectrum: seasoned video pros as well as newcomers to the space. I find it most rewarding to help solve complex logistical puzzles, leading the team to completion, all while maintaining the sandbox of scope, schedule, and budget. I earned my BS in Television & Film at SDSU, and more recently, became a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP®), and a Certified Scrum Master (CSM®). I’m also studying Lean Principles at Purdue Online to improve our processes at Gorilla Creative. My goal is to utilize both waterfall and agile methodologies in the unique space of video production to continuously improve my craft and slay any beast of a project. After all, even with the best planning, the team needs to be ready to think effectively on their feet if and when the script gets “thrown out the window” on the shoot day, or to put out any fires that pop-up during the project! When I’m not managing comms in #Slack and juggling tasks in Asana, I enjoy practicing dance routines with my kids, organizing game tournaments with friends (cardboard or digital), and taking my wife on spontaneous, delicious food adventures.
