My current role is Head of the Business Solutions Team at Aggregate Industries who quarry, manufacture and supply a wide range of heavy building materials to the construction industry. Owned by LarageHolcim - The largest construction materials provider in the World spread across 90 countries The key challenges in my role are managing the portfolio and improving Business Engagement so that we can get better visibility and a more strategic view of the portfolio - All this across our various product streams and in an environment that seems to be getting ever more dynamic with internal and external influences continually changing the shape of what we are working on. Put on top of that the engagement with our IT colleagues at Global and Regional Level, life at Aggregate Industries is never dull! A bit about me ... 40 years spent as an IT professional since taking what I think was the first ever Computer Science A Level in 1980 and taking a job within the Metal Box computer department in my home city of Worcester. My career has covered a whole range of roles within the delivery life cycle (developer, designer, analyst etc) with the last 30 odd years being wholly dedicated to Project, Programme and Team Management.
