In the late nineties my wife and I had good paying jobs with a healthy investment plan, and then the tech bubble burst and we lost a lot of money. We also had the educational futures of our children to protect. I had to figure out what to do next to recover. That's when I decided to learn all I could about the stock market and long-term strategies. Having gone through the rigorous discipline to earn a Master's degree in engineering, I was equipped to do a deep dive into a new area of study. I immersed myself in the world of finance until I felt I had earned another "Master's" degree. It turns out I thoroughly enjoyed the subject matter and was enlightened when my new skills helped others achieve their financial goals. The desire to be a helper in the world led me to a career move from being an engineer with Hewlett Packard to becoming a professional financial advisor. After careful study and research I found that my values lined up with those of Edward Jones. Putting the clients' needs first was important to me as it was a pure form of helping others. I began my new career with Edward Jones in 2014 as a financial advisor in Phoenix and later moved to Sedona in 2015 with my wife, Tracey, and our three children. In keeping with my own desire to help others I soon found myself a member of the Rotary Club of Sedona, serving on the board of directors of the Sedona Historical Society and as a grant reviewer for the Arizona Community Foundation.
