With a very strong background in structural bioinformatics, structure based drug design and molecular dynamics, I am interested in starting long term development & research projects. I have a broad interest in different research areas like structural biology, systems biology and chemoinformatics and am generally associating research work to development of novel software. My programming expertise encompasses numerous programming languages (especially Python, C & SVL + an ounce of JAVA, PHP, Javascript ...) and I am also an advanced user & programmer of commonly used workflow software like Pipeline Pilot & Knime. During my spare free time I invest a fair amount of effort on further developing the successful fpocket software I wrote a few years back together with Vincent Le Guilloux. Today fpocket is widely used throughout the world and as such a very successful open source project. Next to a wide-spread use in academics, fpocket can also be found in several biotech and pharmaceutical companies for druggability assessment.
