Fellow (ODS2) at On Deck
5 facts about me: 1) I graduated 1 year early from UC Berkeley because I wanted to save tuition money. While some of my friends had free summers, I took summer classes every year since junior year of high school so I could build up my units to graduate early. It pays to plan ahead. 2) My first(also shortest) part-time job lasted 2 days. I had to do door-to-door canvassing in Oakland in the evening hours. It was dark, freezing and lonesome. I was grateful for the opportunity, but didn't think it was the right fit for me. I quit after the second night. If it doesn't make you happy or bring you joy, stop doing it. 3) I used to play competitive volleyball in middle school and high school. I got into our All-City SF Second Team in 2007. Now I just play for fun. I cannot wait to be able to play indoor volleyball at the gym again! Stay active, your body will thank you later. 4) I love cats and one of my personal life goals is to build an animal shelter offering free & affordable vet care services to animals, especially the sick and elderly. Have compassion. 5) I used to practice delayed gratification over instant gratification. The older I get, the more I realize, it doesn't have to be one or the other. I now practice what I call "planned gratification". Work hard, play harder. What's your story?
