I manage corporate finance, transaction advisory, project finance and economics advisory engagements at PwC Deals Unit in Nigeria. PwC deals practice is one of the largest and the leading advisory practice unit in Africa with projects across different sectors of the African economy. My key competences and experience cuts across advisory services such as M&A, Project due diligence, financial due diligence, financial modeling, business & equity valuation, valuation review, model reviews, market study, macroeconomic & sector analysis, business plan, financial and economic forecasting. Prior to now, Wale was head of research at United Capital Plc Group where he led a team of analysts, provided strategic investment and economic advisory support to the Group and its subsidiaries, and coordinated economic and investment research on key macroeconomic variables, sectors and companies across sub-Sahara Africa. With over 8 years of active coverage of developments in the macroeconomic and investment landscape in the Nigerian and Sub-Saharan African economy (supported by a credential of several publications and media engagements), Wale possesses a deep knowledge of the Capital market, Banking, Consumer Goods, Power, Oil & Gas, Insurance, Agriculture and Cement sectors. As head of research, he also supported asset and fund management initiatives, product development, equities & fixed income prop. trading, wealth & portfolio management advisory, as well as other investment strategy initiatives. Prior experiences also include two years at Afrinvest W/Africa as an research analyst where provided research support for the Afrinvest Equity Fund (AEF) and coordinated the completion of the flagship Nigerian Banking Sector Report in 2015 and 2016 amongst others. He started his career with Meristem Securities Ltd, Lagos as a macro and consumer goods sector analyst before joining Afrinvest W/Africa Ltd. Wale graduated with a First-Class (Bsc. Hons) in Economics, from the University of Lagos. Also holds a Master’s degree in Economics, specializing in monetary economics and econometrics from the same university. He was awarded the best student in the September 2013 diet of Chartered Institute of Stock Brokers Professional Examination.
