Overview
About DP World London Gateway Opened Q4 2013, DP World London Gateway is the UK’s newest, major deep-sea container port adjacent to Europe’s largest logistics park. Owned and operated by DP World and situated on the north bank of the River Thames, London Gateway provides unrivalled deep-sea shipping access to the largest consumer markets in the UK. The development, which is located just 25 miles from London is the closest port to the UK’s largest markets. It will ultimately offer the largest new logistics park in Europe with planning consent for in excess of 9.6 million square feet offering a unique logistics platform in the UK as an integrated tri-modal hub combining sea port, rail freight and road infrastructure. Once complete, London Gateway will create 12,000 direct jobs and over 20,000 indirect jobs. It will enable the world’s largest container ships to call at the heart of the UK's economic and population centre. The port’s highly efficient road, rail and sea links will offer a quicker, cheaper and more environmentally-friendly way to transport goods to their end destination compared with many existing supply chain models.
